Seemingly, the price of failure is a repeat engagement. I could not find a thing that I wanted when I went shopping by myself, so yesterday I got the privilege of going back to the shops with my wife, and browse for an English tea set. That's right, she still wanted me to go looking for something new and improved over what we had, but wanted to accompany me this trip. Although she didn't just come right out and admit it, I suspect it was a little bit of "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself," in there. Of course, the first thing that I had to bring up about this brilliant plan was that there was truly no reason for me to be there at all. I imagine she wanted the company.

I can't even grasp the notion of treating the search for an English tea set as if it's some form of gathering. I can barely even imagine how this works. It's utterly against my motivations for purchasing goods. But that is obviously how it is. I wish my wife had more pals who she could take shopping with her. I don't know why that is. My sister has had several at every time in her life for as long as I can recall. Those who share her specific passion wholly too. More of them than I thought were out there, who are excited enough to even be the ones who call her up half the time and invite her out to the stores with them to look for random things. Everything right down to an English tea set. There was nothing that was out of bounds. The goal was just to get out of the house, meet, and go on the hunt for things. Often times not even specific items either.
It's too bad but my wife is short on pals who share her interests. As a matter of fact, she has precisely one. To make things worse, my wife's shopping pal doesn't live anywhere near us so it's months between outings sometimes. I wish things were easier. I bet she would have gone out on the fantastic English tea set hunt if she lived a little nearer to us. And I would be all the better because of it. But nothing I can do to change that.
How my sister set it up so she has invariably had an abundance of friends is beyond my understanding. She's forever been lucky about happening on the appropriate people. People who share the same interests, whatever they may be. Perhaps she just got the gift of personality. Sis was always the life of the party. There was no end in sight to the worry for our parents during her high school years. There are many chances for popular young ladies to get into trouble, and she took advantage of more than her fair share of them. I wouldn't say she hung out with with the wrong kinds of kids as much as I would say that she was the wrong sort of kid herself. Everybody tended to flock to her, and not the other way around. She also had a thing for seeing the bad boys during that time of her life. She had that down to a science. I on the other hand, never caused Mom and Dad a moment of worry.
We both got through those years okay though. When all is said and done, that's what all parents truly hope for. We all have trials and tribulations that we have to go through with our family members. As long as your support system is there for you, you turn out alright. Now if I could only get through this tough patch right now. The part of my life now referred to as the hunt for an English tea set. It would be a load off my mind not to have to shop for one more day.
I was briefly tempted to enroll my sister into this mission in my place. We don’t live excessively far from one another at all. Then I came to my senses! The last thing I want is miss wild child giving my wife zany ideas! Calm down. That was said in jest. Kinda... Sorta... Possibly... Maybe...
No worries. I'll simply keep supporting my wife, being the best shopping buddy I can be. When I am accompanied by my wife, it's actually more enjoyable. We still have a good time with each other, y'know. Even after all the years, I still can't get enough of her. And no, we didn’t buy an English tea set even with her along. Empty handed again. We are doomed to go back there once again on my next day off. Somehow I'm not too upset by it. More time on a trek with my wife isn't a bad thing at all.
